Why Oud Works So Well for Men
Oud's characteristics — depth, warmth, a hint of smokiness, and remarkable longevity — align naturally with what many men seek in a fragrance. It projects quiet confidence rather than shouts for attention. When worn correctly (sparingly), it creates an aura that stays in the room after you have left.
Pure Oud Attar
Undiluted agarwood oil — the most concentrated and authentic form. A single small drop lasts 10–16 hours. Intense and animalic in character, this is for the connoisseur. Indian Assam oud is popular in South Asia.
Oud + Rose (Oud Al Ishq)
A classic pairing where rose's brightness softens oud's raw intensity. This remains one of the best-selling male attars in the Gulf and increasingly across India. The rose doesn't feminise the scent — it balances it.
Oud + Sandalwood
Sandalwood as the base softens oud's harder edges and extends longevity further. This is a great first oud for someone who finds straight oud too challenging.
Oud Mukhallat (Blended Oud)
A mukhallat is a hand-composed mixture of oud with other oils — saffron, amber, musk, rose. These are designed to be approachable while retaining oud's distinctive character.
How Strong Is Too Strong?
A drop of genuine oud on the wrist at 9 AM should still be detectable at 9 PM. One small drop on each wrist and behind the neck is the standard for office and social settings.
